Katra village is beautifully designed by the nature itself, situated at the bank of river Bagmati and lakhandai. Near the goddess temple, these two rivers merged in each other. Katra village is well-known for Goddess Chamunda Mata Temple. The former Prime Minister Chandra Shekhar visited the goddess temple at that time when he was prime minister.

Katra is the popular place of Muzaffarpur district. Many villages dependent for marketing and government office work. Katra village is block for 74 villages. People are coming from different villages for official works and health checkups, also the students are coming for education.

The village is fully enriched with greenery; here you will find the gardening of mango plants in huge number. Different varieties of mango you can find here like: Maldha, Amarpalli, Kalkatiya, Chapra etc.

Near the goddess temple, every year a huge fair is organized on the occasion of Goddess Durga Puja. The devotes are coming from different corners of nation/ state to pray the goddess. In the mid of the chowk you will find a hanuman Temple. Village is well connected from all around by road and bridges. Katra gadh is known for the market also, you can buy all household things. At the chowk you can find, hotels for sweets and snacks (chaat, samosa, chap etc.).

Katra is a block in Muzaffarpur District of Bihar State, India. It belongs to Tirhut division. It is located 32 Km towards East from District head-quarters Muzaffarpur. It is a Block head quarter.
