Padma Awards – one of the highest civilian Awards of the country, are conferred in
three categories, namely, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri. The Awards
are given in various disciplines/ fields of activities, viz.- art, social work, public affairs,
science and engineering, trade and industry, medicine, literature and education, sports, civil
service, etc. ‘Padma Vibhushan’ is awarded for exceptional and distinguished service;
‘Padma Bhushan’ for distinguished service of high order and ‘Padma Shri’ for distinguished
service in any field. The awards are announced on the occasion of Republic Day every year.

- Shri Hukumdev Narayan Yadav in the field of Public affairs.
- Ms. Rajkumari Devi in the field of agriculture.
- Shri Manoj Bajpayee in the field of Art-Acting-Films.

- Shri Jyotiniwas Kumar Sinha in the field of Social Work-Affordable Education.
Shri Hukumdev Narayan Yadav:
He is a member of the 16th Lok Sabha of India and a former Union Minister of State. he recieved award in the field of Public Affairs. He is the recipient of Padma Bhushan India’s third highest civilian award. He is known for his fiery speeches in the parliament. At present he represents the Madhubani Lok Sabha Constituency.
Ms. Rajkumari Devi:
Rajkumari Devi of Muzaffarpur, Bihar has been awarded this year for Padma Shri. She is also know as Kishan chachi. She Belongs to Anandpur village of Saraiya block from Muzaffarpur. Read More here
Shri Manoj Bajpayee:
Manoj Bajpayee is an Indian film actor who predominantly works in Hindi cinema and has also done Telugu and Tamil language films. He is the recipient of two National Film Awards and four Filmfare Awards. In 2019, he is awarded by India’s fourth highest civilian honor Padma Shri for his contributions to art. He hails from Belwa, a small village in Narkatiaganj.
Ms. Bhagirathi Devi:
Bhagirathi Devi is an Indian politician. She is honoured with the Padma Shri Award. She is a member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly, and currently represents Ramnagar, Paschim Champaran. Bhagarithi Devi initially worked as a sweeper in the block development office in Narkatiyaganj, West Champaran district with ₹800 as salary. She especially worked in the field of girls’ education. Bhagirathi spent several years creating mahila sangathans (women’s groups) in Narkatiyaganj block, organising women and creating awareness around issues that included domestic violence, violence against dalits and fair wages. She later expanded her political activism to other blocks in the district, going to jail in 1991 for organising demonstrations.
Ms. Godawari Dutta:
Godawari Dutta is a famous madhubani painter. She is well known for her contribution in Madhubani painting. She contributed in establishing Madhubani museum in japan. She is awarded with Padma Shri award.
Shri Jyotiniwas Kumar Sinha:
Jyotiniwas Kumar Sinha born in Patna, Bihar. He served as Director General of Central Reserve Police Force and later as Member of the National Disaster Management Authority. He is a Bihar cadre Indian Police Service officer of the 1967 batch. He established shoshit seva sangh for provinding education and medical suport to Disadvantage communities of Bihar. He recieved padma shri awards in the field of Social Work-Affordable Education.
